Calculator inputs

When you use our calculators, your inputs are processed in your browser and temporarily on our servers to generate your estimate. We do not store calculator inputs linked to your identity unless you choose to save or purchase a report.

Email address

If you purchase a report or request to save your estimate, we collect your email address to deliver your report and for follow-up communication you have consented to.

Payment information

Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We receive a transaction record that includes the last 4 digits of your card for report access purposes.

Usage data

We collect anonymous usage data through Vercel Analytics, including pages visited, time on page, and general geographic region. This data is not linked to your identity.

Cookies

We use a single functional cookie to remember your light or dark mode preference. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver purchased reports via email.
  • To improve calculator accuracy and content.
  • To send follow-up emails if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Attorney Lead Referrals

If you choose to connect with a family law attorney through our site, we share your name, email, state, and a summary of your situation with our referral partners. This sharing only occurs when you explicitly opt in. You are never automatically enrolled in attorney referrals.

Data Retention

  • Calculator results stored in our system: 7 days.
  • Purchased reports: 30 days from purchase date, then permanently deleted.
  • Email address and purchase record: retained for 3 years for tax and legal compliance, then deleted.

Your Rights

  • Right to access. Email us to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Right to deletion. Email us to request deletion of your data.
  • California residents. You have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to opt out of data sharing. We do not sell your data.
