What changed on October 16, 2026

This version replaces the terms that took effect on September 16, 2026.

  • The section on our form asking to be contacted, now headed “Requests to Be Contacted”, names who we pass your details to when you send it: independent law firms, and companies that pass requests like yours on to law firms they work with. It no longer calls them licensed, because we do not check anyone’s license.
  • That section now says who may pay us for passing your details on, and that DivorceCostEstimator.com does not charge you for sending the form.
  • “Consent to Contact”, “Affiliate and Referral Disclosures”, and “Limitation of Liability” name the same recipients.
  • “Not Legal Advice” no longer mentions a feature for keeping an estimate by email, which this site removed.
  • This notice is new. “Changes to Terms” promised one for every material change, and until now there was none.

Calculator Estimates

Our calculators produce estimates based on typical outcomes and published state formulas. These estimates are starting points for planning, not predictions of what a court will order. Actual costs vary based on your specific circumstances, your attorney, opposing counsel, and the presiding judge.

Requests to Be Contacted

DivorceCostEstimator.com is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal services. If you send our form asking to be contacted, we pass your details to independent law firms, and companies that pass requests like yours on to law firms they work with, who may contact you about your case. We do not choose your attorney for you, do not guarantee that anyone will contact you or that any attorney will take your case, and are not responsible for the services, advice, fees, or conduct of anyone who contacts you or any attorney you hire. Any attorney-client relationship is solely between you and the attorney you choose to engage.

We may be paid by those we pass your details to. DivorceCostEstimator.com does not charge you for sending the form, sending it is entirely optional, and your estimate is the same whether or not you send it.

Consent to Contact

If you send our form asking to be contacted and provide your contact information, you authorize those we pass your details to, who are independent law firms, and companies that pass requests like yours on to law firms they work with, and their representatives, to contact you about your case by phone, text message, and email at the number and address you provide, including by automated or prerecorded means. Message and data rates may apply. This consent is not a condition of using our calculators, and you may revoke it or opt out at any time by following the instructions in any message you receive or by emailing privacy@divorcecostestimator.com. Intellectual Property

  • Site content, calculators, guides, and the DCE State Score are owned by DivorceCostEstimator.com.
  • You may share calculator results for personal use.
  • You may not reproduce, republish, or scrape our content without written permission.

Affiliate and Referral Disclosures

This site contains affiliate and referral links. We may receive compensation when you click or purchase through these links, at no additional cost to you. Our calculators and content are not influenced by these relationships.

We run no ad network. The links above are the only advertising on this site, they are labeled where they appear, and they are not editorial recommendations.

Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for decisions made based on calculator estimates, or for the acts, omissions, advice, services, or fees of anyone we pass your details to or any attorney you hire. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to your use of the site is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any dispute arising from your use of the site will be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and post a notice on the site. Continued use of DivorceCostEstimator.com after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
